Video - Using Embed Codes

Having rich content like videos is a really effective way of engaging with visitors to your site. We've made it really easy to enrich your pages of content with this media using what we call embed codes. They are short codes used to embed the rich content inside of your text.

There are 2 different ways of including video vimeo: (A video hosted on vimeo) youtube: (A video hosted on youtube)

In the editor the embed is shown, on the front end of the site the corresponding media will be displayed.

Adding a Video

To add a new video go to the Embed Code menu on the left hand side of the page. Select the submenu item "Videos"

Then click the green "+ Create Video" button. A new page to add the details of your new video will appear.

Enter the title (required) and description (optional) for your video, these details are not shown on your site, they identify in the list each video you upload. The drop down field labelled "Type" allows selection of the different types of video embed.

YouTube or Vimeo.

For YouTube and Vimeo videos, the video must first be uploaded the their platform. Then the website address of the video on YouTube or Vimeo needs entering into the URL field below the type field. (This field appears when the relevant type is selected). Click Save, and your video is added to the system.

The list of videos is then shown, the embed code for the video is shown in the row for each video. Copy this embed code and paste it into anywhere in the Schudio CMS where there is a content editor and your video will appear there.

Embed Codes: See Where Your Content Is Being Used

We've introduced a helpful new enhancement to the CMS that makes managing embed codes much easier.

When viewing any embed code within your website editor, you can now see exactly where that embed code is being used across your website.

How to View Where an Embed Code Is Being Used

  1. Navigate to Embed Codes within your CMS.
  2. Select the embed code you would like to review. This works for all embed code types, from Document Groups through to People Groups.
  3. Click on the blue hyperlinked title of the embed code.
  4. Once the viewer opens, scroll to the bottom of the page.
  5. You will now see a list of all website pages where that embed code is currently displayed.

Why Is This Useful?

This new feature makes it much easier to manage and update content across your website. Instead of searching through pages manually or creating multiple versions of the same embed code, you can quickly identify where a particular embed code is being used and make updates with confidence.

Whether you're updating documents, forms, people groups, or other embedded content, you'll always know exactly where your changes will appear.
