Adding a News Article
News articles can be found under the News menu.
On the News page, any previously added News articles will be listed.
Creating a News Article
To add a new News article, click the green "+ Create News Article" button at the top of the page
Below is an explanation of the fields on the News Article details page.
Title
The title for the article. It should be short and snappy, but explain what the news article is about.
Date
The date the article will will be published as on your website. Select the date from the series of drop down boxes The article will be given the publish date of the date entered here. If the article is given a date in the future, it will not appear on the website until the publish date. This allows the building up of news articles that are all ready and will automatically go live on the appropriate date(s).
Image
This image is the thumbnail image that appears under the title in the smaller news article previews, and at the top of the news article page. Ideally it is an image related to the content, having an image for content dramatically increases interest in that content. We recommend use of a landscape image, the system will select the top bit of the image for the square thumbnail preview.
Short Description
This description is the short bit of taster text that appears under the title and image in the smaller news article previews. It should reveal some more about the news article, but be interesting enough for users of your site to want to read the whole article.
Content
The content box is the main body of the article. This is the same text editor present on most of the editable content pages in the Schudio CMS. For more detailed instructions on using the text box please click here.
Embed Codes
This section contains a complete list of all the embed codes that you have created
Tags
The tags box allows you to categorise and tag your articles. For more on tags click here.
Publish
The publish checkbox is ticked by default and allows the content to be shown on the site. If the publish checkbox is not ticked the content will not be shown.
If the blog is being posted by an 'Editor' user the post will not go live until it has been approved by an 'Administrator'.
To automatically delay the date at which the news article will be shown, use the Date field at the top of the page.
News - Settings
You will see at the top of your News page, there is a button for settings. The screenshot below will show you where it is located.
When you click on this button, a text box will appear. This text box now allows you to add a brief introduction to the top of your News page.
This will now appear at the top of your News page on your website, once you click save.
